Aromatics have many uses discovered long ago. Now you can use them for a different variation of remedies. Here we have provided a list of what we have for you to use during your massage and at the bottom are some common mixtures for common problems.

Benzoin: Warming, soothing, vanilla-like, good for respiratory problems, dry/craked skin, scar tissue, and grounding. (Non-sedative) Blends well with bergamot, clove, cypress, frankincense, juniper, lavender, myrrh, orange, petitgrain, rose, sandalwood, and vetivert.

Bergamot: Good for depressive states, anxiety, appetite regulation, acne, scar tissue. Light, delicate, refreshing scent--citrusy. May cause skin irritation; use in low dilutions. Blends well wwith benzoin, citronella, cypress, dill, jasmine, lavender, lime, marjoram, patchouli, sage, juniper, chamomile, and neroli.

Chamomile: Good for anxiety, stress headaches, premenstrual tension, muscle aches, sprains, swollen joints, colic, indigestion, acne, eczema, psoriasis, and skin abrasions. Do not use in early pregnancy. Blends well with caraway, melissa, patchouli, rose, thyme, geranium, sage, lavender.

Cypress: Good for varicose veins, broken capillaries, brusing, rheumatic aches, cold compresses, asthma, cellulite, sweaty feet. Avoid in the first three months of pregnancy. Do not use with kidney disorders, after masectomy or hysterectomy, or while taking testosterone. Blends well with benzoin, dill, lavender, lemon, lime, orange, bergamot, rose, frankincense.

Eucalyptus: Pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory, reduces swelling, accelerates healing, reduces
fever and skin pain, expectorant (helps with phlegm), stimulates immune system, feels cool to skin and warm to muscle. Use low dilutions, avoid with homeopathic remedies or epilepsy. Blends well with bay, benzoin, lemon, lemongrass, marjoram, juniper, and lavender.

Frankincense: Anti-inflammatory, mildly psychoactive, helps to induce meditative states. Good for stress and energy work. Blends well with benzoin, black pepper, lemon, lime, melissa, myrrh, orange, sandalwood, geranium, and rose.

Geranium: Yeast infection preventative, good for cellulite, minor cuts and burns, depression, nervous tension, premenstrual mood swings, acne. Use low dilutions. Blends well with lavender, melissa, patchouli, petitgrain, rose, sage, chamomile, juniper, citrus oils.

Ginger: warming, stimulating, good for respiratory problems, muscular aches, inflamed joints, bruises, arthritic pains. May sensitize skin, use low dilutions, avoid on face and neck. Do not use while pregnant or with high blood pressure. Blends well with cinnamon, citrus oils, patchouli, rosemary, sage, and verbena.

Jasmine: Anti-depressant, good for: lethargy, menstrual cramps, childbirth, frigidity and impotence, respiratory system, skin, stretch marks, and scarring. Avoid in pregnancy. Can cause headaches. Blends well with bergamot, frankincense, geranium, melissa, neroli, rose, sage, vetivert, sandalwood, citrus oils.

Juniper: Calming, fresh, good for rheumatic aches and sports aches and pains. Avoid with pregnancy, kidney disease, and glomerulonephritis. Blends well with benzoin, cypress, lavender, melissa, sandalwood, thyme, ginger, rosemary, citrus oils, and rose.

Lavender: Good for headaches, muscular aches, acne, insect bites and stings, minor burns, insomnia. Diuretic. Blends well with benzoin, sage, geranium, melissa, myrrh, patchouli, petitgrain, pine, rosemary, verbena, vetivert, marjoram, citrus oils, and frankincense.

Lemon: Benefits greasy skin, good for circulation, mental facilities, varicose veins, recovery. Fresh and citrusy. Avoid steam inhalation. Avoid sun and sun lamps for six hours. Use low dilutions. Blends well with benzoin, chamomile, eucalyptus, ginger, lavender, neroli, rose, sandalwood, thyme, and ylang ylang.

Lemongrass: Cooling, sedative, aniseptic. Good for mental/physical fatique, exercise-related exhaustion, acne, sluggish digestion, muscle aches, and breast-feeding. Possible skin irritant, use low dilutions. Blends well with geranium, jasmine, lavender, neroli, orange, patchouli, tea tree, rose, sandalwood, rosemary.

Mandarin: Calming, good for nervous tension, rheumatic aches, fluid retention, cellulite, pregnancy, hiccups, anxiety. Avoid sun and sun lamps for six hours. Blends well with bergamot, chamomile, dill, grapefruit, lavender, lime, marjoram, neroli, rose, and thyme.

Melissa/Lemon Balm: Good for depression, anxiety, shock or bereavement, digestive issues, tension, regulation of ovulation and menstruation, female reproductive system and hormone balance, migraines, anorexia, car sickness, hypochondria. Possible skin irritant, use low dilutions. Blends well with benzoin, chamomile, frankincense, geranium, jasmine, lavender, nerli, sage, thyme, citrus oils, rosemary, and rose.

Neroli: Gentle sedative. Good for panic attackes, insomnia, stress-related disturbances, mature and sensitive skin, broken capillaries, heart palpitations, high blood pressure, comfort for cancer patients and others suffering from chronic illness. Avoid exposure to sunlight for 6 hours. Blends well with bergamot, jasmine, lime, melissa, orange, patchouli, rose, sandalwood, ylang ylang, benzoin, lavender, and frankincense.

Orange: Fresh, citrusy, and wonderful. Good for anxiety, heart burn, digestion, dry skin, wrinkles, eczema and depression.Avoid sun and sun lamps for six hours. May cause allergies. Pairs well with angelica, benzoin, cinnamon, geranium, jasmine, lavender, neroli, rose, sage, thyme, frankincense, juniper, cypress.

Patchouli: Anti-inflammatory, bactericidal, good for skin conditions, acne, aging skin, dandruff, oily hair, weight reduction, water retention, cellulite, and insect bites. May cause headaches. Pairs well with bergamot, chamomile, sage, geranium, ginger, lavender, lemongrass, myrrh, neroli, nutmeg, pine, rose, sandalwood, and vetivert.

Peppermint: Mental stimulant, digestive, food for stomach pains, headaches, migraines, senility. Use low dilutions, avoid with homeopathic remedies or eczema. Blends well with eucalyptus, rosemary, and marjoram.

Rose: Anti-depressant, increases alertness and pleasant dreams, good for premenstrual tension, hangovers, stress, feminine problems, sensitive skin, allergic skin, dry or mature skin, asthma. Pairs well with benzoin, bergamot, sage, geranium, jasmine, lime, melissa, neroli, orange, patchouli, lavender, chamomile, and sandalwood.

Rosemary: Smells similar to eucalyptus but a little more herbal. Stimulating effect on central nervous system, increases circulation, relieves pain, good for rheumatic aches, menstrual pain, muscle fatigue, damaged muscle tissue, vertigo. Avoid in pregnancy, with high blood pressure, and with epilepsy. Pairs well with basil, bay, clove, dill, geranium, hyssop, lemon, lime, mandarin, marjoram, melissa, myrtle, orange, peppermint, pine, sage, thyme, lemongrass, juniper, and petitgrain.

Sage: Strong odor, very herbal. Good for gynocological problems, menstrual problems, water retention, muscle soreness. Clears fear and violence, brings out dreams and aids in the release of strong emotions. Avoid in pregnancy, while breastfeeding, with high blood pressure, weakness, or epilepsy. Pairs well with bergamot, geranium, ginger, lavender, melissa, orange, rosemary.

Sandalwood: Calms and cools, smells like human hormone, sedative, reduces inflammation, good for sunstroke, dry skin, anxiety, depression, acne, eczema. Pairs well with benzoin, black pepper, cypress, neroli, patchouli, ylang ylang, jasmine, frankincense, and rose.

Tea Tree: Good for minor wounds, cuts, stings, acne, congestion. Pairs well with cypress, eucalyptus, ginger, lavender, lemon, myrtle, nutmeg, orange, rosemary, thyme, geranium, scot's pine, and lemon.
